ADAS Restricted Occupational SCUBA to 30m (Part 1R Scientific)
Scientific Diver Training
The Restricted Occupational SCUBA to 30m course provides scientific diver training to recreationally trained divers enabling them to work safely in a team, in reasonably controlled environments that involve negligible risk from environmental hazards, underwater entrapment or risk of unplanned decompression.
The course is run by the Professional Divers Training Academy’s ADAS qualified instructors, whom are all highly experienced scientific divers and work within PDTA’s sister company, Professional Marine Science services. PMSS is a marine science consultancy specialising in marine ecology and maritime archaeology.
Whilst the main emphasis of the course is to dive using half face masks and mouth held regulators, during training, students must use a variety of modern diving equipment including full face masks with effective communications. Student divers will also be assessed as competent to complete a variety of relevant light work, sampling and survey tasks.
