History
Professional Diving Services have been in operation for forty years supplying commercial diving services predominately throughout Victoria but also interstate and overseas.
Professional Divers was founded by Frank Zeigler, initially running from our Portland office established in 1981 in western Victoria. Malcolm Venturoni joined the company in 1996, heading up the Melbourne Operations. After years of continuous growth, Malcolm became a partner and Managing Director in 2006 and the Professional Divers Group was formed.
Professional Diving Services has completed over $250M of diving and marine works over its past forty years and since its inception has played a significant role in all the major maritime projects throughout Victoria. These have included the Victorian Channel Deepening Project, development of the Dockland Precinct, Victorian Desalination Project, Princes Pier Rehabilitation, Appleton Dock Rehabilitation, the Port Capacity expansion project, Station Pier Rehabilitation and Central Pier Rehabilitation.
Within its first 40 years PDS has also well established itself through all parts of Australia and has been extending internationally with projects completed within the Asia Pacific region.
Professional Divers Group also operate Professional Divers Training Academy, an Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme (ADAS) commercial diver school, which since it was launched has expanded our training services and compliments our registered training organisation, Smarter Safer Solutions that provides height safety, first aid and confined space training.
Professional Divers Training Academy commenced in 2011 and since have trained over 550 students in entering and advancing their occupational diving careers. PDTA offer Part 1 & 1R (SCUBA), Part 2 (SSBA), Dive Supervisor and Chamber Operator courses with programs being run in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
In 2015 Professional Divers Group also kicked off Professional Marine Science Services specialising in marine ecology and maritime archaeology with projects completed throughout Australia and overseas.
We currently have over 55 staff and offices in Melbourne, Portland, Sydney and Brisbane. We set ourselves at the forefront of the commercial diving industry and are leaders in our field. With a strong reputation for professionalism, safe working and innovation, we are embracing ongoing growth into the future.
