Professional Divers Training Academy recently introduced four prospective students to the world of commercial diving.
Using current industry dive equipment such as Kirby Morgan bandmasks, superlites, full face AGA & OTS guardian masks, participants were given the opportunity to gear up, dive into the PDTA dive training tank and experience a day in the life of a commercial diver. Once underwater, divers were assigned the tasks of disassembling and reassembling a pipe puzzle whilst receiving assistance and directions from dive supervisors above. To add to the experience, everyone in attendance participated in a dry dive in the recompression chamber to a depth of 30 meters and given the opportunity to master the art of Broco thermal lance cutting, a tool regularly used by the commercial diver.
